Less information
To live a better and more creative life, I should greatly reduce the amount of information I take in. And I don’t mean selecting or filtering information — that’s what I do every single waking and connected minute of my life. No, I mean reducing the raw amount of information that I accept and look for.
For the past ten years I’ve assumed that more information, learning new things, was inherently good. The only downside was the time it took. Now it seems that the flood of information claims all of my ability to focus, to experience, to perceive and to care.
What I need: more silence; more pointless moments; time to feel with the body rather than process information in the brain; new sensations.
More contemplation and fewer messages.
